Pix Profit Review - Thumbs Down

What does Pix Profit claim?

"Your new job is to retype the picture content into the input field in English. English alphabet knowledge is requred. You will be paid from $1 for 1000 pictures. You are limited by your typing speed only - you can proceed up to ten pictures per minute. So, your payment can grow up to $3 per hour. Minimal amount for transfer is $3, payment systems are PayPal, Webmoney, AlertPay and Liberty Reserve. Transfers are proceeded daily."

What is the work?

The "picture content" is actually CAPTCHAs(Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart). I didn't realize this before I signed up, and I didn't even realize what the point of the typing was until I read some other reviews about Pix Profit. The site claims that you can type up to 10 pictures per minute. When I first started, the pictures did show up one after another very quickly, but then after about 20 pictures, it slowed down...alot. I was waiting a few minutes for the next picture. I did this for about a half an hour and then signed in the next day to see my earnings.

What were my earnings?

$0.005. Half of a cent for 30 minutes of work. This was a complete ripoff and the only reason I signed back in after that was to take a screenshot of my earnings. Here is the screenshot:

How hard is the work?

Typing is simple, but it was difficult to understand some of the CAPTCHAs, so I wasted some time just trying to figure them out. You aren't paid when you mess the CAPTCHAs up. It was extremely time consuming. I made less than a cent in a half an hour!

What is the work availability?

Pix Profit claims that their rating system determines how quickly you receive pictures. I never made it above 4 because I didn't even do 100 pictures. If you mess up a lot, you can get marked all the way down to 9, and if you are quick and accurate, then you can get ranked as 0, which puts you at the front of the line to receive pictures. I received pictures very quickly at first, and then I was waiting minutes in between each picture. It seems erratic and unreliable.

What is the method of payment?

As of 09/14/2011, Pix Profit pays through PayPal, Webmoney, AlertPay and Liberty Reserve. You must reach the minimum payment of $3, which would take a very long time to reach!

What is the final verdict?

Pix Profit is not worth the time and keystrokes. At the maximum of 10 pictures per minute, you are making $0.60/hr. 60 cents per hour!

I'm not the only one who thinks Pix Profit is a waste of time. Check out these other reviews:

"I am trying to keep myself from laughing as I am typing this because this website is so ridiculous" - CiarrasMommy

"I have given up this site already because waiting for images to load just keeps on getting slower and slower each day" - Jerryman

Inbox Dollars Review - Thumbs Up

What does Inbox Dollars claim?

"As a member, you get paid to take surveys, read e-mail, play free online games, shop online, redeem grocery coupons, complete special offers and much more. It’s easy, it’s free, and you get a $5 bonus with sign-up!" They don't make any claims about getting rich quick.  They claim that they will generally send 2 or 3 paid emails per day. They start you out with $5 just for signing up!

What is the work?

The work is essentially what Inbox Dollars claims. The earning potentials include clicking on emails (about 1-3 cents/email), taking surveys (50 cents/survey), coupons (10 cents/redeemed coupon), watching commercial videos (2-3 cents/commercial), shopping (2-20% cash back), and special offers (5 cents - $20). The best way to make money from Inbox Dollars is not by clicking on their paid emails, which only pay about 2 cents per click, and at only 3 emails per day. Some quick math shows that it would take 417 days, over a year, to make it to the $30 minimum payout, including the $5 signup bonus.

I focus on the special offers and keeping my account active and letting the Gold Membership referrals build up. The special offers vary from entering your email on business' email lists to enrolling in free trial offers. Some of the special offers require you to enter your credit card information or even make purchases. I have done a few of these offers if the payout is more than what it costs to enroll or make the purchase. I have never had an issue with Inbox Dollars not honoring special offers.

What were my earnings?

My first payout was on August 29, 2006. At the time, Inbox Dollars charged $17 to purchase a Gold Membership, which is key to earning money! When someone joins Inbox Dollars without being referred by an existing customer, a current Gold Member is credited for referring the new member and receives a portion of the new member's earnings. In total, I have received payments of $392.96 from Inbox Dollars. Yes, this is over a period of 5 years, but it is very little work and I did barely any work at all on it until this past year, during which I earned $209.96. Here is a screenshot of my payment history:

How hard is the work?

The pay is not great and it's not suitable as even a part time job, but I won't complain about clicking on emails a few times a day and receiving a check every few months! It isn't very time consuming and does not require skills other than basic computer knowledge.

What is the work availability?

Emails come steadily every day, but the special offers don't change very much, so it is possible to run out of special offers if you are working on Inbox Dollars a lot. Again, this is not an opportunity to replace a day job, it's more of something to do on your lunch break or while watching a movie.

What is the method of payment?

As of 09/14/2011, Inbox Dollars only offers payments by check. They have a minimum payout of $30, and they charge $3 to send you the check. I really don't like that, but that fee is waived if you wait until you reach $40 or more to request your check.

What is the final verdict?

I love Inbox Dollars and I will keep working for them. It is not an opportunity to replace a 9-5 job or even make a dent in paying your rent, but it is easy work that isn't time consuming.
